The SludgeWatch 715 provides a simple, low cost method of spot checking the sludge blanket level in a wide variety of settlement tanks. The cable reel design removes the need for any additional carrying bag.
The sludge blanket is detected by winding the sensor down into the tank, the audible tone will change and the LED illuminates once the sensor has reached the blanket.
This method of sludge blanket detection offer major improvements over traditional SludgeJudge type systems in terms of both repeatability and importantly health and safety – no more manhandling 4 metre tubes full of contaminated wastewater.
The 740 Monitor provides, quick and accurate readings of Suspended Solids, Sludge Blanket Level, and Turbidity via an intuitive menu structure from a totally portable package. The robust IP65 enclosure incorporates a security strap and protective case to prevent accidental dropping, impact damage and abrasion of the display surface. The display itself is a high contrast LCD that has been designed to work over a wide temperature range with no loss of clarity. A rugged carrying case holds the above, together with the measuring probe, cable, battery charger and instruction manual.
Self Cleaning Suspended Solids Sensor
The TurbiTechw² LA Sensor has been designed for use in aeration systems monitoring suspended solids also known as mixed liquor suspended solids or activated sludge where solids are typically in the range of 1,500 to 3,500 mg/l.
The sensor can also measure Returned Activated Sludge (RAS), Surplus Activated Sludge (SAS) and suspended solids or turbidity. The fully automatic self cleaning system ensures that manual intervention on a routine basis is not required.
The OxyTechw² RDO Pro-X Sensor uses the latest optical technology for measuring dissolved oxygen (DO) in demanding wastewater, drinking water, industrial effluent and surface water environments.
The sensor uses optical sensing techniques that provide a fast response and do not need a flowing sample to operate. There is no need for routine calibration, enabling manual intervention to be kept to an absolute minimum. Periodic validation of the measurement can be done as part of standard quality assurance performed by the operator. The sensor uses an extended life cap that does not have a finite life, though replacement is recommended every two years. When replacement of the cap is required the operation takes only a few minutes with no need to enter complex set up codes and no need to re-calibrate.
The OxyTechw² GAL Sensor has been designed to provide highly reliable Dissolved Oxygen measurements. The sensor employs the traditional galvanic principle.
The rugged 100 micron, HDPE membrane has been selected to provide exceptional resistance to damage. This, combined with Oxyguard’s unique electrolyte and anode material provides long term stability of 3 years and longer without the need for sensor refurbishment or membrane replacement.
The WaterTechw² pH8000 Sensor has been designed to provide highly reliable pH and temperature measurements. The sensor uses a flat surfaced electrode which includes an extended reference path, these features combine to provide an extremely robust pH measurement, suitable for use in surface water, waste water and drinking water applications.
The electrode uses field proven flat surface, self-cleaning technology. The reference system is enhanced by the Extended Path Reference (ERP) design which provides a complex path to protect the reference in the presence of interacting ions such as proteins, silver and sulphides
The 7300w² Monitor is the core product in the WaterWatch² range. The monitor is designed to interface with all of the sensors in the WaterWatch² range. The monitor specification provides all the connections required for 1 or 2 sensors, systems can be created by the use of expansion boxes to include multiple sensors. The maximum number of sensors will be limited by the practicalities of most sites. We anticipate 8 being a sensible maximum although many more can be accommodated.
The ASLD2200 is a fully automatic sludge blanket level detector designed for the water and waste water industry. It utilises a servo-driven sensor which continually tracks the settled interface with the sensor at the very top of the interface zone.
Continuous monitoring of the sludge/water interface or sludge blanket is central to the efficient operation of clarifiers, thickeners and settlement tanks. Reliable measurement enables a control system to maintain the optimum depth of sludge in the tank. A sludge interface that is too high can result in pollution incidents caused by carry-over from a final settlement tank. The sludge can also become too thick to extract easily or can turn septic if left too long. If there is insufficient sludge in the tank the settlement process cannot operate correctly and the solids will tend to remain in suspension.
Our infrared sensors are ideally suited to monitoring the sludge/water interface even when the settlement process is not working effectively and the interface has become indistinct.

The 90º light scatter monitoring technique makes the sensor sensitive to a wide range of particle sizes, from colloidal material through to larger particles and raw waters and the large mineral particles sometimes found in distribution samples.
The TurbiTechw² LR Sensor complies with the internationally recognised ISO7027 standard for turbidity measurement. The unique sensor design captures stray light which ensures an ultra stable zero point, this is combined with an automatic self-cleaning mechanism that prevent the build up of fouling within the sample chamber. The measurement system includes a self monitoring loop that compensates for changes in optical performance.
