Boiler Tube Leak Monitoring - on line The Procon leak detection system is designed to detect a steam leak the moment it begins, allowing time to shut down the boiler at an optimum time, such as the weekend. This can result in substantial reduction of repair times and costs with a consequent increase in availability and profits. Early detection of a tube leak will give financial savings which will easily exceed the initial capital cost of the detection system, even at the first event. Boiler Feed-water and Condensate Return Systems Timely return of hot condensate and properly sized boiler feed tanks can play a significant role in energy conservation. Slow condensate return results in heat lost which must be made up in the boiler. Too large a feed tank and further of the latent heat of the liquid is lost before returning to the boiler. Portable SF6 Leak Detection for Transformers and Switchgear Ion Science have developed a revolutionary negative Ion capture (NIC) sensor which is non-radioactive, eliminating the problems of registration, storage and transportation associated with traditional ECD SF6 detectors. This has also eliminated the need for high purity pressurized Argon. The Ion Science system is unaffected by large leaks of gas. Even after saturation or exposure to 100% SF6 clear down remains rapid, eliminating delays between tests. The system is sensitive to leaks as small as 1 X 10-8 ml/sec and can display in ml/sec, gm/yr and ppm. |
