Bestobell Aquatronix has been a major supplier to the Canadian marine and shipbuilding industry for more than 50 years. Historically, the core of our scope of supply has been level measurement and control. Our capabilities have expanded to include water quality/oil in water instrumentation, gas detection, air starter regulator blocks and safety valves. Our successes have included the first Arctic Class 4 Icebreakers built in Canada (Beaudrill's Miscaroo, Kalvik and Terry Fox), all Canadian Coast Guard Navaids and research vessels, Department of National Defence MCDV vessels and Frigates, BC Ferries, Marine Atlantic ferries, CAE (Indian Navy Project) and countless commercial and off-shore supply vessels. The manufacturers we represent supply the marine and shipbuilding industry on a global basis and well understand the demands of the operating environment. They understand the need for robustness, reliability, and durability and have made significant investments in obtaining and maintaining the appropriate approvals.

NEW! Advanced Digital Level Measurement System iCT, the intelligent digital hydrostatic transmitter from PSM Instruments, from the core of this new and innovative level measurement system. Intended for use on service, ballast, fresh water, draught and smaller cargo tanks, the iCT bridges the gap between conventional analogue transmitters and new generation digital devices. For upgrades or replacements of old instrumentation it can operate as a 0.25% accuracy conventional 4-20maDC transmitter but with the added benefits of imbedded intelligence for simple user set-up. In dual mode it provides both analogue output and digital communication, and in digital only mode the full benefits of multi-drop connection are realized. In digital mode the iCT also provides temperature measurement, further reducing the system equipments. In digiat mode up to 128 iCTs can be multi-dropped over a single 2 wire, RS 485 network, significantly reducing wiring and installation costs. Each transmitter provided both liquid level and volume data corrected for non-linear shaped tanks using the programmable 25 point look-up table. Internal diagnostics continually monitor the health of the iCT, and there are internal alarms for high, low and rate of change (for detection of tanks leaks). Spares holding is reduced as units are interchangeable and configured after installation. Setup and diagnostic functions in the central display means the instrument can be set up without special calibration equipment. All parameters are stored in non-volatile memory in both the transmitter and the central monitor. This distributed intelligence enhances system reliability since a failure of one unit will affect that unit only. Central monitoring of the tank gauging and control system is performed by the Tankview Monitoring system running the Integrated Support Software (iSS), a PC based software application running in a windows environment. The iSS display will show the current level/volume/pressure/temperature values and also any active alarms/errors reported by the iCT. The standard iSS configuration, diagnostic and display tools are provided free of charge, and optional enhanced versions are available providing full graphic presentation and interface with other software packages. Remote function module can be deployed throughout the ship to provide local termination of a grouping of transmitters, or optionally, local display allowing access to any transmitter on the ship. For cargo holds, radar level transmitters can be incorporated into the system. The entire system is RoHS compliant and is marine approved by the appropriate classification societies. |

NEW! PSM Series 6011 TDR Transmitter is used in conjunction with PSM displays to provide a complete tank gauging solution specifically designed, manufactured and tested to meet the arduous needs of Naval Ships. All tanks irrespective of content and whether vented, sealed or seawater displaced employ an identical sensor. They are insensitive to liquid type or specific gravity and all electronic modules are identical. Configuration details are maintained in the display so replacement sensors can be put into service quickly and without the need of specialized calibration equipment. With no active components in the tank and no mechanical calibration needs there is no requirement for routine tank access. |

Hydrostatic Level Transmitters PSM Series 260 Marine Hydrostatic level transmitters utilize the proven measurement principle of a pressure sensitive diaphragm with LVDT sensing. Diaphragms are produced in corrosion resistant alloys and are offered in a number of nominal ranges. Diaphragm travel is limited by mechanical design, providing unmatched tolerance to high overload and shock conditions. |

Denstar Mud Density/SG Transmitter The PSM Denstar 290 Series Transmitter measures mud density as a function of differential pressure. The unit has two pressure sensitive diaphragms, each of which are located at a known elevation and separation in the tank. Under normal operation both diaphragms will be submerged, and since the distance between the sensors is fixed, any variation in the pressure differential between them is a function of liquid density. PSM’s unrivaled experience in the design of pressure sensitive diaphragms and their application in the Marine/offshore sector, together with a versatile approach to unit construction, ensures optimum performance for all applications. The design is ATEX approved for use in Hazardous Areas and employs the same construction techniques and principles as PMS’s range of marine duty hydrostatic level transmitters which carry type approvals from all major classification societies. |

Level Indicating and Control Panels/Systems Tankview for Windows is a complete PC based tank contents display and control panel. It provides the used with a clear picture in both graphic and numerical format of either level or volume. Displays are arranged in a number of windows according to tank duty: i.e. ballast, cargo, fuel oils, fresh water, etc. Tankview provides alarm reporting and data logging functions, offering outputs for remote alarm and control functions. |

BulkSafe Water Ingress Alarm The BulkSafe Water Ingress Alarm system is fully approved in accordance with Solas Chapter XII Regulation 12 IACS unified requirement UR S24 IMO DE 46/18/1 & DE 46/18/2. PSM Series 260 hydrostatic marine sensors are well proven in thousands of shipboard applications and are Type Approved by all leading classification societies. The 4-20 mADC 2 wire output provides 4mA when the hold is empty, thus providing re-assurance of a constant “live sensor” indication, a feature not available with simple switching devices. The sensor monitors for the presence of any water ingress and the system may be set to trigger the ‘pre’ and ‘main’ alarm conditions at any level. Default system settings are 500 mm & 2000 mm in accordance with the Regulations guidelines. |
