Magnetic level gauges are installed on the outside of the tank and contain a float which is magnetically linked to an indicating strip mounted on the outside. Transmitters and switches can be fitted to provide remote indication or alarm signals which can be adjusted without interrupting the operating process. |

Bestobell can provide both TDR or non contact radar solutions. TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) is ideal for measuring liquids, powders and granules to a range of 60 metres. The system is unaffected by pressure, temperature, viscosity, vacuum, foam, dust, changes in dielectric constant or coating of the probes Reflex non-contact models offer the unique Tank Bottom Following (TBF) mode in all the VG Series enables products with dielectric constants as low as 1.1 to be measured. For process vessels with complex internal structures the unique Empty Tank Spectrum (ETS) can be utilised to damp out all unwanted reflections from pipes, heating coils and agitators |

Ultrasonic Level TransmittersT Finetek offer a complete range of ultrasonic measurement capabilities, from sealed transmitters for sump applications to complete indicating sensors with remote control and indication. Sontrol manufacture a unique range of ultrasonic level instruments capable of measuring from the bottom up and through the tank wall. The ultimate in non-contact measurement and ideal for highly corrosive or hazardous applications. |

Hydrostatic Level Transmitters PSM Instruments have been manufacturing hydrostatic level transmitters since 1982. These robust transmitters have been designed and developed to withstand the demands of the most difficult applications. They are widely used in arduous marine applications where vibration and shock are common. Auxitrol manufactures a unique bubbler system for extreme applications. It features automatic flow regulation and self cleaning for difficult slurry service. |

RF Admittance Level Transmitters for Liquids, Solids and Interfaces: The RF Admittance instruments utilize digital admittance technology to measure how much of the sensing probe is covered by the the liquid of interest. This is accomplished by generating a radio frequency pulse of energy which travels from the sensing probe to the ground reference (usually the tank wall). The amount of liquid between the two determines how much energy is transferred. The energy flowing (very small and low in all cases) is a highly repeatable measure of the liquid level or interface position. The amount is integrated and used to produce the 4-20 mADC signal. It will accurately measure almost any kind of liquid including water, oil, gasoline, acid, caustic, soup, milk and antifreeze. it will also handle most powdered or granular products. |

Magneto-Restrictive and Continuous Reed Level Transmitters: The magneto-restrictive system consists of a magneto-restrictive waveguide sensing element in the stem and an external permanent magnet in the float. The sensing wire is pulsed with a current at fixed intervals to create a magnetic field which then interacts with the float's magnetic field (which is in direct relation to the liquid level) which then creates a stress in the sensing wire. This stress wave propogates along the sensing wire at sonic speed until the pulse is detected at the transmitter. The measured lapse time is then converted into an analogue output proportional to level. |

Sludge Blanket Interface Level Transmitter - Ultrasonic The Bestobell Markland MSL 602 uses the sonar principle, with an ultrasonic pulse transmitted under the water, Sophisticated echo processing allows the MSL 600 to analyze the pulse of ultrasound which transmits vertically and reflects from the surface of the sludge blanket. The system captures the ultrasonic echoes reflected from the blanket below. Knowing the speed of sound in the supernatant, the depth of the sludge blanket is then determined from the time of flight of the echo. |

Sounding Level Transmitters for Liquids, Solids and Interface A sounding transmitter is located on the top of the tank or silo to be measured. A plummet (float or weight) is lowered until it touches the process material and is then retracted usually for a short distance. the distance traveled (selectable) is computed and transmitted as a signal representing level, volume, or weight. The signal may be remotely displayed and is direct reading in engineering units. the remote mounted operate/display device is inherently very simple and easy to setup and program. Each sounding unit may be remotely operated by any of several display/control devices. Range to 110 feet and resolution is 0.005 inches. |
